One more day until Florida!

One more day in NNY and Sabrina & I are off to Florida for some R&R.
After the past week of snow, grey skies and chilly temperatures we're looking forward to thawing out in the sunshine state.
It's going to be so good to see family & friends.
Just wish Brian could be joining us, but a least we have a family trip being planned to the nation's capital when we get back.
Stay tuned for pictures of sand & palm trees!

An unfortunate loss

I write this post with a heavy heart, but a positive outlook and head held high.

Although I made it to the end of my first trimester, our baby did not.  This past Friday we went to have genetic testing done and during the ultrasound we were unable to find a heartbeat and found out the baby stopped growing a few weeks ago.

I guess theres a reason so many wait to announce their pregnancy until the second trimester. But sharing the news of pregnancy is so thrilling and exciting its hard to wait, however sharing the news of a loss if difficult.

I'm actually doing well.  I'm definitely disappointed, but hopeful for the future.  I'm amazed at how common a miscarriage is and thank all that have shared the news of their losses with me, it really makes me feel that I am not alone.

For now I'm cherishing the beautiful life I have created and I am allowing her laughter and beauty to fill my void.  I'm blessed by all the support my husband, family and friends are showering me with.

Hopefully one day Sabrina will be a big sister but it just isn't meant to be right now.

Please hold all those you love close and let them know how much they mean to you often.

Easter Part Two

Today we took Sabrina on an Easter Egg Hunt in the backyard.  This was practice for the egg hunt we planned for tomorrow with our mom & tots group.  She charged the eggs and got them all in no time.  After she hunted eggs we spent about 45 minutes blowing bubbles and chasing them.  She also had a good time playing with her sand/water table.  Hopefully it warms up soon so we can actually add some water & let her splash around.
Check out the videos & photos of our outdoor fun below.

Well I hope everyone had a chance to enjoy the outdoors, we sure did.
Happy Easter!

Easter Part One

Happy Easter!

This was the first year we decorated eggs as a family.  I bought a really cool looking dye to do our eggs, a pearlescent type, and it was a real disappointment.  It smelled so bad I had to throw out the whole batch.  Luckily Target had regular tablet dye so we got to do them again, this time without the toxic smell of dye.  Sabrina had fun doing both batches.

Here's a picture of her playing with the ice as the eggs cooled.

The first batch of eggs...

And the second batch.  Its always best to stick with the traditional dye, Sabrina loved all the colors!

I made some Carrot Cupcakes for Easter dessert, they came out fabulous.  Sabrina had fun helping me make the white chocolate cream cheese frosting.  I think her favorite part was licking the beaters.

Sabrina's first time getting to eat frosting off the beaters.

This year I took Sabrina to Michaels Crafts and she picked out her first true Easter basket. The Easter Bunny filled it with books, bubbles, & chocolate.

Brian also got an Easter basket filled with his favorite treats, Reese's peanut butter eggs.

Sabrina was all full of smiles when she saw what the Easter Bunny brought her!

After breakfast she figured out how to open the chocolate bunnies.  I asked if I could have a bite & she told me no.
